Chibolya dojo
The Chibolya dojo was founded in 2022 as a partnership between Girl Kicks Zambia, run by Sensei Nayombe Muliyunda, and FairFight. Sensei Martha is the highest ranked female karateka in Zambia, and the only woman in Zambia to run her own dojo. The dojo is located in the Chibolya slum, on the outskirts of Lusaka. It is a place of extreme poverty and deprivation. 80 girls attend training regularly and 20 of them have started gradings and competitions. Thanks to a partnership with the Kwok Meil Wah Foundation, 80 girls have been given scholarships to go back to school. The girls compete in national and international tournament, with especially strong performances in team kata.
