Chibolya Dojo

The Chibolya dojo was founded in 2022 as a partnership between Girl Kicks Zambia, run by Shihan Nayombe Muliyunda, FairFight and the Kwok Meil Wah Foundation. Shihan Nayombe is the highest ranked female karateka in Zambia, and the only woman in Zambia to run her own dojo. The dojo has two locations: in the Chibolya slum, on the outskirts of Lusaka, and in Woodlands at the centre of Lusaka.

Chibolya is a place of extreme poverty and deprivation. 80 girls attend training regularly and 30 of them have started gradings and competitions. Thanks to a partnership with the Kwok Meil Wah Foundation, 80 girls have been given scholarships to go back to school.

The girls compete in national and international tournament, with especially strong performances in team kata.
