SCHOLARSHIPS
Ambassador of
Change
The Ambassador of Change scholarship was launched in 2020 to support our young talent in Zimbabwe through a period of economic hardship. The scholarship finances school fees, uniforms, and exams for a talented girl for 2 years, renewable. She also gets a second hand phone and a mentor to support her learning journey.
Scholarships are financed by individual donors, groups of donors or organisations. Upon graduation, girls may apply for a Future Leaders scholarship to pursue further studies. In exchange for their scholarships, the girls are expected to attend 75% of their karate trainings, attend competitions and gradings, and develop a community project with a startup fund of 50 USD.
Over the years, we’ve had 13 Ambassadors of Change, 11 in Zimbabwe and 2 in India, of which 8 graduated high school! Congratulations Tinashe Munemo, Patience Mukarati, Ruvarashe Nyamukunda, Madeline Muusha, Ruvimbo Madewu, Tawana Matiki, Andile Mahachi and Michell Chijiri on finishing high school through our program!
Future Leaders
To help our girls get a further education after high school, we launched in 2021 the Future Leaders scholarship, which provides funding for university or vocational education in Zimbabwe and Zambia.
This scholarship pays fees, accommodation, visa (if required), medical fees, library fees, cafeteria fees, books and other costs of studying. Our future leaders scholars are required to continue their karate training throughout their university or college education.
Over the years, we’ve had 4 Future Leaders, of which one graduated with a Masters degree in Law from Tallinn University in Estonia, and one with a nurse aid qualification in Zimbabwe. Congratulations Tinashe Munemo and Patience Mukarati on graduating! Two are currently studying Medicine and Social Work in Zambia.
